Registration Fees for Landowners of Single-Family, Duplex Rentals
Carrollton’s City Council has amended the City ordinances for 2009, requiring landowners to now pay a registration fee for single-family and duplex rentals. The registration fee is $50 for each rental property and is meant to cover the cost of the inspection program.
Registration requires submittal of the registration form along with payment of the registration fee; the City will not accept registration material without payment of the fee. Failure to properly register a single-family or duplex rental property with the City may result in a citation and fine of $500 per day for each day the property remains unregistered. Registration forms and fee’s are to be mailed to the City no later than Jan. 31, 2009.
Registration packets are being mailed between December 15 and December 31 to all property owners that registered rental properties in 2008.Landowners of new rental properties, or who have properties that were not previously registered, should contact Environmental Services at 972-466-5727 or download a form. At this time, the City is unable to offer an online registration and payment procedure for the rental registration.
