CHOCOLATE LOVERS’ PARADISE
Treat yourself to decadence at the 5th Annual Chocolate Fest in Grapevine
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (Jan. 10, 2009) – There are four basic food groups — milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate and chocolate truffles. You are certain to sample something from each of those food groups at the fifth annual Chocolate Fest in Grapevine on March 13 and 14. All proceeds from the event – featuring more than 30 of the finest chocolatiers in the D/FW region – will go toward Travelers Aid Dallas/Fort Worth, a United Way agency whose mission is to provide information and social services to the DFW Airport community and surrounding communities.
In support of Traveler’s Aid D/FW, guests can enjoy an evening under the stars indulging in decadent chocolates and sipping fine wine on March 13 from 7 to 10 p.m. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to sample delicious chocolate treats, candy and desserts from area chocolatiers. The evening event will take place at La Buena Vida Vineyards located on 416 E. College St. in Grapevine. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $35 or $40 at the door. Admission includes port and chocolate tasting, hors d’oeuvres, live music, souvenir wine glass, valet parking, and participation in silent auction.
On Saturday, March 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – bring your sweet tooth and spend a day indulging in chocolate and perusing unique pieces of art at the Palace Arts Center in
Historic Downtown Grapevine, located at 300 S. Main St. Art demos and exhibits from local artisans will provide the public a sweet and entertaining experience. Tickets may be purchased for $15, and includes 10 delectable chocolate samples. Admittance for children ages seven and under is $5, and includes three chocolate samples. Entertainment will be provided at both events.
All proceeds benefit the Travelers Aid at DFW International Airport. “Unfortunately, emerging situations and crises have increased during travel—including flight cancellations and delays,” said Bruce Freeman, Executive Director of Travelers Aid D/FW. “As a result, somebody must be available to assist these folks looking for help…and that’s what we’re here to do. We appreciate everyone who comes out during Chocolate Fest to support Travelers Aid D/FW and all we do to help those in need.”
The non-profit organization has assisted distressed passengers at the DFW International Airport since 1974. The agency was heavily involved in assisting individuals stranded at the airport during 9/11 and helped evacuees from Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike. Travelers Aid DFW also assists families and individuals who are in crisis,
transition, or are separated from their normal support systems. The organization provides this assistance through four different programs: Client Intervention Program,
Local Transportation Program, Volunteer Information Program, and Lost and Found.
